Quality Local Childcare

DSC01364.jpg

Harvey Bears Nursery & Preschool offers quality childcare to the residents of Harvington and surrounding communities.

Our ethos is based on the belief that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support to fulfil their potential at a pace which suits them.

As a ‘pack-away setting’ held in Harvington Village Hall we are able to provide a bright, stimulating and inviting environment which is constantly evolving and adapting based on the children’s needs and wants. This encourages the children to make choices and explore new areas of learning, developing their confidence and independence.

The Foundations of Well-Rounded Individuals

Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our first priority. We have a strict door policy, qualified First Aiders are present at all times and our staff are trained in proper hygiene practice.

We teach children simple ways they can help take care of themselves. Little lessons, like washing their hands, blowing their noses, getting exercise and looking after their friends are important building blocks that help them think about how they and others can stay safe and healthy.

We also try to make children feel part of a community. Small responsibilities like helping to plan excursions, listening properly and asking questions form good habits, while charitable activities create awareness of other people’s lives.

We take the children out on regular outings around the village and beyond, including visiting the local farm. We are also fortunate enough to have access to a weekly Forest School (weather dependant) where the children discover mini beasts and explore the natural world.

A Place to Grow

At Harvey Bears we focus on fun, creativity and activities which get children thinking for themselves. We encourage them to make decisions and share ideas, letting their imaginations and interests take the lead. We treat every child who joins us an individual and they are surrounded by their peers and staff who allow them to develop at their own pace.

We have a dedicated Baby and Toddler area where the younger children can enhance their confidence, social and physical development. When ready your child will move into the Pre-School area, where they will continue to improve their number, letter sounds, shape and colour skills through play based activities. We also have regular live music sessions, delivered by a local volunteer, which allows the children to develop their physical dexterity, listening skills and rhythm, whilst having great fun singing and dancing.
