Caring Staff who Build Partnerships with Parents

We are proud of our happy, professional team, all of whom have been chosen for their ability and commitment to care for and nurture young children. Most are also active members of the communities we serve. Each child is allocated a key person who becomes their primary carer and with whom they, and their family, will build a secure relationship.

Sue

Manager

I have worked in childcare for almost 20 years and have been at Harvey Bears since 2011. In 2015, I had the pleasure of taking on the role of Manager. I have a fantastic, supportive and extremely dedicated team who all adore caring for your children. I am level 6 qualified and I am a special educational needs coordinator. In my spare time I like to cross-stitch and embroider.

Judith

Deputy Manager

I am a qualified teacher.  I live in Badsey and have worked in Harvington since 2012. I enjoy children to be messy, including gloop, jelly and even baked beans! In my spare time I enjoy gardening, knitting and spending time with a growing family. I am often found in National Trust properties roaming the house and grounds with envy!

Ryan

Pre-School Assistant
Designated Safeguarding Lead

Working with children is the only career I have ever known, having done it since leaving school aged 16. I am now Level 6 qualified, approaching commencement of my Level 7, and have gained substantial experience in numerous aspects. I really love this career and couldn't imagine me doing anything else. I have been working at Harvey Bears since September 2022, I am Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and am third-in-command of the setting; leading sessions in whatever circumstances the management team are not present. I am passionate about being part of children's learning and development and am very keen to get involved. Outside of work, I am a huge Rugby fan and have an ambition for travel.

Sue S

Pre-School Assistant
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

I have worked in education for 20 years, mostly in early years and primary schools. I started at Harvey Bears in 2022 and quickly became a part of the friendly team. I am the toddler room lead and love being at the start of a child's learning and watch them grow. I have a level 3 qualification and the deputy safeguarding lead and also lead forest school.

I have a lot of patience and find working in education very rewarding. I grew up in the village and I run the community social media group and assist animal rescues to raise vital funds. I also enjoy walking around the village and taking photos of wildlife and the scenery.

Cynthia

Pre-School Assistant

I have worked in childcare since 1993 and I absolutely love my job. I have a level 2 qualification in childcare. I have 2 children of my own and 2 grandchildren. I believe I have the skills to handle every child's needs in a range of situations. By being caring, patient, imaginative and consistent, I feel families will be comfortable leaving their precious children in my care to be nurtured and educated. I am delighted to say that I'm now seeing the second generation of children coming through our doors.

Jennie

Pre-School Assistant

I’ve been working at Harvey Bears since November 2017 after deciding to change my career and do what I always wanted to do and work with children. After completing my Level 2 Childcare apprenticeship at the setting, I was thrilled to get a permanent job and continue to spend my days looking after the children. My favourite thing about this job is seeing the children develop and grow. Outside of work, I enjoy reading and running around after my own two children. Both attend Harvey Bears and love it.

Angela

Pre-School Assistant

I have been working in childcare for over 25 years and am Level 2 qualified.

I also own a local sheep and arable farm, which has recently been approved by the Forestry Commission due to our tress planting. I love spending time on the farm and with my now grown up daughter.

Amanda

Pre-School Assistant

I joined Harvey Bears in October 2023. I really enjoy playing with the children and working with my colleagues. I like doing art and craft activities and going to Forest School.

I enjoy spending time with my family and travelling the world with my husband... my favourite holiday was to Bangkoc, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Nareece

Pre-School Assistant

I'm currently studying at Pershore College and I am bank staff at Harvey Bears. As this is my first job I find it very rewarding and fun, it's a friendly and caring village setting which the children love attending.

My interests are sketching and playing video games.

Lucy

Pre-School Assistant (Bank Staff)

I have my NNEB and have been working in childcare now for over 15 years, looking after children ranging from newborn up to 13 years.

Outside of work, I enjoy keeping fit and spending time outside, especially paddle boarding. I have three beautiful children of my own, an older daughter and twins who attended Harvey Bears before moving onto our local school. I have previously volunteered on the committee before joining the team as bank staff in 2022.
